
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Analyst in coordinating, collecting, developing and analyzing all crime and protective security information (departmental intelligence) to prepare pro-active advice to Protection Services management to ensure protective security risk management planning
- Critically evaluating information gathered from multiple sources for reporting purposes
- Conceptualizing complex technical information to a general understanding
- Capturing of all relevant documents and/or data on the prescribed databases
- Maintaining a record system in line with the company / department guidelines
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the security service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team
- Responding to enquiries
- Prepare daily/weekly reports and specific reports on analysis conducted pertaining to investigations and protective security risk evaluations
- Quality control and internal audit checks with regards to data integrity relating to CiiMS by the Security Operations Centre
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification or equivalent
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- 2-3 years’ experience in an Assistant Officer Administration role within the mining or industrial environment
- Be in possession of valid driver’s license, Code 08 (EB)
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Key Competencies:
- Proven personal safety record
- Certificate in iBase and Analyst Notebook
- Certificate in CiiMS
- SAP system understanding
- Self-starting and able to work with minimum supervision
- Strong organizing skills to be able to plan, do, check and act in work processes within tight deadlines
- Sound interpersonal relations, collaboration and good communication skills
- Display strong analytical, problem solving and presentation abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
- Pay attention to detail and have a meticulous and well-organised work method
